Upton Urns

There are five of these eighteenth century urns which sit on the top of the old manor house in Upton-upon Severn. HSAL was asked to inspect them.

They were unsafe so they needed to be taken down and conserved. Each urn is made of five stones, and all were badly damaged with centuries of layers of paint on.

HSAL cleaned the paint off and carved new elements for the urns. The detail can now be seen in them beautifully.

All work was done without a scaffold and with rope access.
